METHODOLOGY
After an initial interview, we will develop a tailor-made mental training program. This program takes place over weekly, biweekly or monthly sessions, approximately 60 to 90 minutes long, in person or through WhatsApp video, FaceTime or Skype.
In these sessions we will reflect on the means necessary to achieve the stated objective, and define a concrete action plan to be carried out during the time between each session.
Mental performance techniques build confidence, foster consistency in performance, and help riders achieve their goals. The programs provided here are designed to strengthen the mental skills used in practice, lessons andcompetition. Peak Performance Techniques that riders may already know & use are strengthened, and new skills are taught to assist the rider in achieving their true & maximum potential.
We will establish a relationship of trust between sports psychologist and rider / coach in which I will help to reflect, always working from the mental and emotional map. In this process, observation and the communicative aspect between the two is essential.
For this, if possible I will attend some training sessions and competitions (if not possible due to distance, we will work through videos).
There are 5 related phases:
1) Analyse and reflect through Socratic dialogue
2) Discover. "Realizing ..." allows the athlete to obtain sufficient practical knowledge to clarify their purposes and the means to be used.
3) Set goals and strategies. Define what you want to achieve and the means by which we want / can achieve it. (G.R.O.W. Method)
4) Take action.
5) Internalize and create habits. In this phase, the role of the sports psychologist is to facilitate a transformative learning for the athlete. For this, feedback will be provided at the end of each session.
